Nikola Tesla spent the latter days of his life trying to perfect Wireless electricity transfer. He proposed the idea of a national boarder protection system comprised of electrical transmission towers aptly named Death Rays. Tesla speculated that these rays could produce concentrated electrical bursts that would literally stop fleets of invading air strikes in their tracks. The idea of Spark Man was very much similar in concept. Modeled after a 2.2 meter tall spark plug and outfitted with twin diode/electro beaming rods, Spark Man was an impressive visual entity.

Unfortunately, as with Tesla, the concept and implementation of concentrated electrical pluses were not nearly as effective as a continuous circuit. Even in a partial vacuum, the pluses generated from the rods were made intentionally slow as a fast propagating charge would dissipate way too soon and the effective power would decrease linearly to the speed of the burst. The result was a machine that was visually imposing but a poor
replacement to its predecessor
